Life Insurance After Cancer
Reader’s Question:
A sad thing happened today, I just learned that I have cancer. But hey, life goes on. Ironically I’ve set an appointment with my insurer in Scranton Pennsylvania PA next week hoping to get life insurance. Should I even bother?

Of course you should still go ahead with your appointment, Arianna. Like you said, life goes on and this is a very opportune time than ever to get life insurance. You might also want to get second and third opinion about your illness. But even if you really have cancer, there is still no reason to discontinue with your application for life insurance in Scranton Pennsylvania PA.
In fact, you should make your application process easy by being ready with all the medical information you have, including examinations, pathological records, the treatment that was recommended by your doctor, and anything else that you can provide him with. This will make it easy for your insurer to have a better picture of your condition, lest he assume that your condition is graver than what it actually is. Remember that insurers are trained in risk assessment and management, and will also always be conservatives. This means that if they do not have sufficient information to assess what level of risk you will be, they will always assume the worst, and either charge you with very high premiums, or worst, deny your application.
Speaking of life insurance premiums, insurers around Scranton Pennsylvania PA may assess and evaluate your condition differently so it will be best to shop around for various quotes. To get five different quotes, type in your zip code at the top of this page and answer some questions.
Life does not stop here, Arianna, it goes on. I will want to hear from you in a few months’ time to know how you are coping.
